Recommended Action
That Council direct staff to replace the Big Leaf Maple Memorial Tree stumps that remain at 96 Avenue and Glover Road, 96 Avenue and Trattle Street, and 96 Avenue and Wright Street, with another type of Maple, as deemed suitable by staff; and
That staff plant the saplings cultured from the seeds of the original Big Leaf Memorial Maples in a grove at Hudson Bay Park in
Fort Langley; and further
That a commemorative ceremony be held for the three replacement memorial trees at the location of 96 Avenue and Glover Road prior to the Arbour Day festivities scheduled for Hudson Bay Park in
Fort Langley on April 23, 2017, to honour Langley’s fallen following the 100th Anniversary of VIMY Ridge.
