Collective Wearing of Clothing Apparel by Council
Recommended Action
Whereas the wearing of specific apparel by the collective Township Council in support of a specific cause, group or program may be seen as a strong Township endorsement; and
Whereas Council’s aim is to ensure that all residents are afforded equality and respect in all matters;
Therefore be it resolved that Council direct staff to draft a Council policy that will prevent Council from collectively wearing attire that supports a specific cause, group or program, but will acknowledge the rights of the individual Council members to choose their own attire as appropriate.
