Cannabis Retail
Recommended Action
Whereas the Federal Government has adopted the legalization and retail of cannabis effective October 18, 2018;
Whereas the current regulations regarding the production of cannabis in the ALR may negatively affect farming communities within the Township; and
Whereas the Province has given authority to local government to determine how retail sales of cannabis is regulated within municipalities;
Therefore be it resolved that Council refer, to a future
Council Priorities Committee meeting, a discussion related to regulating cannabis retail and issues facing production within the Agricultural Land Reserve.
