Recommended Action
That the survey results, questionnaires and comment sheets for the Fort Langley Museum/Heritage Project (the FLMHP) provided at the public open house or otherwise received from community members and the four Committees of Council be received; and further
That Council direct and authorize staff to undertake the following:
• Consider the feedback received and take reasonable steps to incorporate the concepts and ideas submitted while proceeding with the FLMHP;
• Pursue and submit additional grant applications to other levels of Governments and their agencies and/or departments including Infrastructure Canada, Canadian Heritage, the BC Arts Council and others seeking additional funding supporting the FLMHP and other broader community development initiatives in the Fort Langley Community;
• Proceed with development applications, and other permit applications and rezoning as needed for the FLMHP;
• Proceed with a Call for Expressions of Interest and a Request for Proposals from the Development Community and/or other interested parties in order to secure the construction or funding for the construction of the FLMHP;
• Continue discussions with the Seyem Qwantlen Business group towards their participation in the FLMHP and the further development of their proposals for the Bedford House property.
