Recommended Action
Whereas a memorandum was sent to Mayor and Council from the Engineering Division on February 15, 2018 (File #0400-67-001) concerning the TransLink Major Road Network Review;
Whereas this memorandum identifies the addition of 216 Street from 88 Avenue to Highway 10 as the number two priority on the list; and
Whereas residents of Walnut Grove have long expressed their concern about 216 Street north of the interchange to 88 Avenue (and 96 Avenue) being a truck route on the basis of public health and child safety due to the close proximity of elementary schools and daycares;
Therefore be it resolved that Council change the number two priority in this report to read; “from the new 216 Street Interchange south to Highway 10”; and
Be it further resolved that 216 Street north of the new 216 Street Interchange to 96 Avenue not be designated a truck route in the TransLink Major Road Network.
