recommended motion
Whereas homelessness in the Township of Langley and across the region is continuing to grow and responsibility is becoming more localized;
Whereas the Township of Langley has provided an annual grant to the Gateway of Hope as the primary contribution to the issue of homelessness in the Township of Langley; and
Whereas the loss of gaming in the Township of Langley has led to the loss of funding for the Gateway of Hope and will result in a negative budget balance in excess of $100,000 for the current fiscal year;
Therefore be it resolved, that the Township of Langley provide the Gateway of Hope with a grant of $100,000 in the 2017 budget year; and further
Be it resolved, that the Gateway of Hope's request for annual funding of $100,000 remain as part of the 2018 budget process.
